Race with Brantling
Brantling is one of the area's premier race training venues. Coaches with 30+ years of experience, high-speed surface lifts and the coaches' ability to view the course top to bottom offers the optimal race training experience. Brantling offers both training and racing options for beginning to experienced high school and club racers skiing the USSA track/Eastern's.
Standard Race: A FUN race in which each racer gets two timed run. Race against a friend or yourself to improve your time. So whether you have never raced before or are experienced, come out and have some FUN!
When: Saturdays at 3:15 pm starting January 4th
Race Fees: $5/race (does not include lift ticket)
Brantling & BSRA Club Training: Training sessions for members of the BSRA ski club and individuals interested in becoming members of the club. Non BSRA club members must have approval from Kevin Spear, Head Coach/Owner to participate.
When: Tuesday & Thursday Nights 6:00-8:00 pm
Weekend training sessions at coaches' discretion based on USSA/FIS race schedules
Training Fees:
$420* Born 2007 & After (U10 U12, U14)
$480* Born 2006 & Before (U16, U18, Sr.)
*Training fees do not include a lift ticket. Racers must purchase a season pass as an individual or as part of a family pass. Christmas Race Camp, when available is included in fee.
About BSRA: The Brantling Ski Racing Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the development of local junior ski racers. BSRA is a member of the Genesse Valley Ski Council (GVSC), the New York State Ski Racing Association (NYSSRA), and the United States Ski Association (USSA). Brantling is regarded as one of the most successful junior racing programs in New York State, drawing racers from a five county area. The program emphasizes personal achievement and the enjoyment of skiing as a life-long sport. Ski racing also fosters personal development and life skills such as independence, goal setting, self-esteem, confidence, and discipline.
Brantling racers participate in USSA sanctioned local, regional, and national level competitions. BSRA racers have been very successful at all levels of competition with many going on to ski at top ranked Colleges and Universities around the country as well as ski for the US Ski Team. Our own, Diann Roffe has won at the very highest levels of competition earning Olympic Gold and Silver.
BSRA is a parent run organization that relies on membership dues, race sponsorship's, fundraisers and contributions to help defray the operational expenses of the club. Several events are held at Brantling through the combined efforts of Brantling Ski Slopes and BSRA including the Annual Open House New/Used Equipment Sale which is held the 2nd Sunday in November, the club's biggest fundraiser, as well as the Christmas Eve U16, U18, U21 race, U10, U12, U14 Dual Slalom, and local GVSC race(s). Parental involvement and support is critical. All racers skiing the USSA track/Eastern's with BSRA must be members of the club, NYSSRA, & USSA in addition to having a Brantling Season Pass.
