Welcome to brantling
Brantling is a small family owned and operated ski area located in Sodus, NY, just ten minutes from Route 104. Brantling is known for its family atmosphere and great lesson programs with options for children and adults of any ability level.
We offer skiing and snowboarding on 9 slopes and trails serviced by 5 surface lifts; one T-bar and four handle tows. All of our slopes and trails are lighted for night skiing and five have snowmaking. On most days, the T-bar, Beginners Ball and Diann's Run handle tows operate with the remaining handle tows operating for special events and some weekend programs.
Our ski lodge makes the perfect home base. The ground floor includes the ticket office, rental shop, retail space, café, open shelving, seating and the Ski Patrol. Upstairs features a beer & wine bar with a fireplace, plenty of cubbies and picnic space. Non-skiing parents and race spectators will enjoy the large windows across the entire west wall overlooking the hill.
Below is more detailed information about skiing and snowboarding at Brantling. We make skiing and snowboarding fun and easy for the whole family and invite your family to join us this winter to see what makes Brantling so special.
What to wear: Wearing layers works best because you can adjust your clothing as the weather changes. A non-cotton base layer, followed by a fleece mid-layer and finally a water resistant outer layer should do the trick on most days. Wearing layers keeps you warmer because it lets you adjust your clothing if the temperature changes as the day goes on. One pair of socks is all you need so skip a second pair. They usually just make you uncomfortable. Again it is best to avoid cotton socks, wool works best. And don't forget a hat and gloves; a spare pair of gloves are recommended.
What to bring: Don’t forget the camera, snacks & water (also available at the Café); and sunscreen and sunglasses for sunny days.
Learning to Ski or Snowboard: Think you might be interested in learning to ski or snowboard? Lucky for you, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve been teaching new skiers this exciting sport since we opened our doors in 1959 and since that time we’ve learned a few things about making learning to ski and snowboard easy and fun. If you’re even thinking about learning we encourage you to come give it a try. It’s fun and a great way for the whole family to stay active during winter.
Learn to Ski and Snowboard Packages: We offer learn to ski and snowboard packages which include a lift ticket, rental equipment (skiers: ski boots, skis and poles; snowboarders: snowboard boots and snowboard) and one hour group lesson. We also offer an upgrade to a private lesson. These packages are your best option and offer a great value. More information and pricing for our packages can be found HERE.
Learn to Ski and Snowboard Camps and Programs: We offer one-three day youth learn to ski or snowboard Camps during school vacation periods for Christmas, MLK Jr. Day and President’s Week. We also offer Youth Programs which meet multi-weekends in January and February. For adult women, a Tuesday program is available for women 18 years and older.

Check in at the main office when you arrive to purchase your packages and receive rental paperwork, lesson ticket and lift ticket. Next, you’ll head for the rental shop where you will be fitted by our rental staff for boots and skis/poles or snowboard. Next you’ll head for the snow and meet your instructor. Groups begin forming 5-10 minutes prior to the start of group lessons.
